More Samples

We have some pictures for you of the projects in some upcoming classes.  First, on August 6, we have the Pop-Up Card class.  You'll get a chance to use the new pop-up card dies from Sizzix, and if you've taken one of these classes before, we'll be using a different card base this time.  These cards are just plain fun to make.

On August 17 our class is called "Tea Party Box" and features a dainty little teacup inside an "explode box."
We're using some beautiful Graphic 45 papers and you'll end up with a lovely gift or gift card holder.

New Schedule

Our schedule of August classes is ready and we hope you're going to find some classes you can't live without.

  • Tuesday, 8/6 .        We will be making two new pop-up cards using the dies from Sizzix.  Pictures will be posted as soon as the cards are born, but we're sure you're going to love them.

  • Saturday, 8/10       This class is a repeat of a class held in June.  We had so much demand for this   class that we reordered materials three times and still ran out of spaces.  For those of you who didn't get a chance to make this gorgeous calendar book using the Graphic 45 "Place in Time" papers, we have received a new supply and are offering this class again.

  • Saturday, 8/17        In this class you will craft a beautiful paper teacup from a die-cut and will mount it in an "Explode Box".  This would be a wonderful way to present a gift card or would make a great gift in its own right.

  • Thursday, 8/22       Iris Folding is back again.  We always have customers asking to learn this creative technique.  Whether you've never done iris folding or would just like a refresher course, this class is for you.

  • Saturday, 8/24       This month's stencil class features a dragon. We will use three different technique to present three very different looking dragons.  Space is very limited because the students from July's stencil class fell in love with the cards and many have already signed up.  Call now to reserve a space.

  • Tuesday, 8/27        We just unveiled the next Christmas card to this month's class members and they
  • Wednesday, 8/28   oohed and aahed and most of them immediately signed up for August. We then
  • Thursday, 8/29       added a fifth class on Wednesday night.  The card is GORGEOUS, so call now                                  and sign up!

This is the August Christmas card.  (Ooh!  Aah!)

A PREVIEW

Although we don't have the schedule yet for August's classes, we do have a date for the Christmas Card Class.  The classes will be Tuesday, August 27th and Thursday, August 29th at 10:30 am and 6:30 pm.
Thanks to participants from this month's classes, there are already quite a few spots spoken for.  In fact, Tuesday night (8/27) is already full!  Call now and reserve your spot.  Here is the card we will be making.  It features the Frosted Christmas Tree die from Memory Box.

There are still a few spots open in the Stacy Rich Workshop on July 25th.  Stacy is the owner of Stacy Stamps and she will be doing a beautiful 4 1/2 inch square box during half of the class (The box would be perfect for giving a small gift or for a gift card.), and four lovely cards and a gift folder during the second half.  For those of you who have already signed up for the class, please bring your class kits with you.  They should include scissors, tape, a bone folder, and a paper cutter which can cut 12x12 paper.  The class promises to be loads of fun.

Some of you have expressed interest in running a second recipe exchange group beginning in the fall.  We currently have a group of 9 women who get together about once every 5 or 6 weeks.  They have put together books for keeping their recipes, and at every meeting they each bring 9 identical pages featuring a recipe from a predetermined category.  Everyone will end up with 9 recipes in each of quite a few different categories.  The choice of food, page layouts, and embellishment is up to each participant.  It's a lot of fun and you get to try some new recipes at the same time.  If anyone is interested in starting another group, let us know.  If there is enough interest, we will set things up and work out the details.

They're here!!!!

Dave Breathauer of Memory Box has done it again!  His new release has arrived, and although we didn't get quite all 108 of his new dies, we did get a lot of them (and quite a few new stamps too).  They are all beautiful as always and most of the dies are Halloween and Christmas.  It might seem a little early, but a lot of our customers are starting their Christmas cards now.

We have received samples from Stacy Rich for our workshop on July 25.  For half of the class she is making  a "Stuff-It Box" which is a lot of fun and is the ideal size for giving small items or a gift card.  The paper and embellishments she will be using may not be exactly as pictured in the sample.

The second half of the class will feature four "shadow cards" and a folder which can be used for storage or to give the cards as a gift.

Stacy's workshop will begin at 10:30 and will probably end about 3:00.  The cost is $60 and as with our other workshops, lunch will be included.  The class will be held either at the store or at First Church.  It depends on how many people sign up.  Call the store now to register.

Tomorrow (Saturday) is Make 'N Take and here are photos of three of the four cards.  The fourth card is currently under construction, but I can tell you it features a gate-fold, butterflies, and flourishes. We'll have the AC on, so come on in out of the heat and join us for some fun.
