AUGUST CLASSES

(This picture is for Linda who says Jazzy needs more BLOG time.)

We have the August schedule ready for you and it looks like lots of great classes.  Now for the details.

  • Aug. 6 - Stencil class.  We will show you more than one way to use a stencil.  We will be using the hot air balloon stencil to make three cards, one of which is actually a hot air balloon.
  • Aug. 9 - Susan's Garden.  Come make three-dimensional flowers that seem to bloom before your eyes.  Using paper and some basic tools, you'll make flowers that look incredibly real.  They can be used in all sorts of ways including cards and scrapbook pages.
  • Aug. 16 - Plain Jane Travel Portfolio - This beautiful portfolio is a great place to keep all your trip photos and mementos, and it's fun to make. You'll be using the new "Come Away with Me" papers from Graphic 45 to construct all sorts of pages, pockets, and tags to enhance your Tim Holtz portfolio.  You'll need to bring your normal class kit (scissors, bone folder, lots of tape, ruler, pencil, etc.) as well as a paper cutter that will cut 12" paper, and 1/4" red line tape.  The class is from 10 to 5 with a short break for lunch, so you can bring a brown bag lunch or we can pick up an order of pizza, sandwiches, or salads for you.
  • Plain Jane Halloween Book - We are ready to start the next round of Hidden Hinge Book classes, and this one is a doozy.  Making this book is a complex process and takes quite a bit of time and patience, but as the former book class students can tell you, it is also very addictive.  This book uses the Graphic 45 "Eerie Tale" paper collection and looks like an antique book of magic spells.  It will be a lot of fun to make.  We are offering your choice of classes,  either three Saturday mornings, three Saturday afternoons or two all-day Wednesday classes.  The Saturday classes will be held on August 23, September 13, and September 27, either 9 to 1 or 2 to 6.  Wednesday classes will be from 10 am to 6 pm on September 10th and 24th. The cost for these classes includes a $75 class fee and $75 (plus tax) to cover all papers, hardware, and other materials for a total of $154.76.  You will need your usual class kit as well as your Martha Stewart Score Board, a paper cutter that will cut 12" paper, a ruler, pencil, LOTS of tape, 1/4 and 1/2" red line tape, foam ink blending tool, and a 3/4 to 1" soft bristle or foam brush for spreading Mod Podge.

  • August 26 - Z Fold Cards -In this class you'll be making cards using  three different shapes of precut Z fold cards from The Paper Cut.  These are really easy cards to make but they look as if you've worked all day.  The possibilities here are endless.
